EIPS working group

European industrial pellet suppliers (EIPS)

In an inaugural meeting on 14 November 2011 at the Renewable Energy House in Brussels representatives of industrial pellet producers, traders and associations decided to establish a permanent working group within the European Pellet Council (EPC) .

The group is discussing and formulating the position of pellet suppliers regarding specifications and sustainability requirements for industrial pellets. Other issues include standard contracts, best practices regarding safety and security, as well as public relations and lobbying issues of the sector.

In particular the EIPS wants to act as counterpart to the Industrial Wood Pellet Buyers group (IWPB) in defining the framework for the rapidly evolving industrial pellet market. The EIPS group is open to European industrial pellet producers, traders and trade associations. Membership in the European Biomass Association (AEBIOM, see form at the bottom) is a prerequisite to join.
